The first franchised Courtyard by Marriott property in
France is scheduled to open in late 2010 under an agreement reached
between Marriott and Societe Hoteliere de Boulogne.
The 115-room, moderate-tiered Courtyard by
Marriott Paris Boulogne will be located in the re-development of
an historic building that was originally owned by the Banque de
France at 114 Route de la Reine in the city center of
Boulogne-Paris.
The original edifice will house the hotel’s
public areas including an open, spacious lobby, bar and
restaurant; 336 square meters of conference space, a fitness
facility and some guest rooms. An addition will be built behind
and above the existing building, including three additional floors
of guest rooms.
“We are excited by this agreement with
Societe Hoteliere de Boulogne which is a subsidiary of
Cofitem-Cofimur,” said Arne Sorenson, Marriott’s chief financial
officer and president of continental European lodging. “They have
a well-regarded reputation for managing branded hotels and we are
confident that this hotel, in this location under the management
of Cofitem-Cofimur will be tremendously successful.”
Accommodations at Courtyards
offer plush bed and bath linens; distinctly defined
rest, work, relaxation and grooming areas; a large work
desk with bright lighting and ergonomic chair; flat
screen television; high-speed internet and voice mail access;
electronic safes; iron
and ironing board and a coffee/tea maker.
For dining, the Courtyard by Marriott Paris Boulogne will
feature Courtyard’s vibrant Continental all-day restaurant
concept, Oleo Pazzo, which combines local cuisine with western
favorites. For those in a hurry, the hotel will offer the
Marketplace, an all-day, Grab and Go convenience stand that is
fully stocked with pastries, sandwiches and beverages.
When
opened, the Courtyard by Marriott Paris Boulogne will be the third
Courtyard hotel in Paris, and ninth Marriott International-branded
hotel in Paris. Three additional hotels are under construction,
including the Renaissance Paris Arc d’Triomphe, the Courtyard by
Marriott Paris Pleyel-St. Denis and the Courtyard by Marriott
Paris Arcueil.
