A gathering of culinary masters from across the globe, the 12th World Gourmet Summit (WGS)
in Singapore will once again treat guests to a splendid display of the finest in epicurean delights from 7 to 26 April 2008.
Co-organised by the Singapore Tourism Board and Peter Knipp Holdings, the World Gourmet Summit attracts internationally-renowned
Masterchefs for a packed three-week calendar, with over 70 activities to indulge gourmands from all over in this world-class culinary
paradise.
“The World Gourmet Summit profiles Singapore as an exclusive lifestyle destination and attracts many foreign visitors, providing them with
distinctive and memorable experiences,” said Jason Ong, Area Director, Middle East and Africa, Singapore Tourism Board.
“At the
World Gourmet Summit, visitors can expect a confluence of the best chefs and cuisines from around the
world.”
The three-week calendar promises specialized events designed to suit different palates, such as Wildlife Safaris where adventurous
gourmands are transported to different locations around Singapore’s Night Safari while dining.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend masterclasses with a range of Michelin star chefs, including iconic chef Anne-Sophie Pic
who holds the distinction of being the first French female chef in 50 years to receive three-Michelin stars.
The World Gourmet Summit in 2007 saw a 15% increase in attendance, with one in five of its 13,000 participants coming from
overseas. Organisers are aiming for 15,000 participants at this year’s event.
