The Cotai Strip CotaiJet
has launched overnight high-speed ferry services between Hong Kong and
Macau. The ferry service is managed and operated by Cotai Chu Kong Shipping Management Services of Hong Kong and uses ferries
purchased by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands Corp..
On top of its current 56 sailings operating between the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal, Sheung
Wan, Hong Kong and the Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal in Macau, CotaiJet will have six
additional overnight sailings, three (12 am, 1 am, 2 am) departing from Hong Kong to Taipa, and
another three (1 am, 3 am, 5 am) from Taipa to Hong Kong.
“The expanded overnight CotaiJet ferry service will provide greater flexibility to visitors who come
to Macau for live entertainment, business and shopping at Macau’s new mega shopping centers
on Cotai Strip such as the Grand Canal Shoppes and The Shoppes at Four Seasons which
opened last Friday,” said Mr. Stephen Weaver, LVS’ President for the Asian Region.
CotaiJet’s custom-built ferries each carries more than 400 passengers and travel at top speeds of
close to 42 knots.
