Etihad Airways, the official airline of London-based Chelsea Football Club, will host a special
'Abu Dhabi day' at the English premier league side's final home match of the English Premier League season against Bolton Wanderers on Sunday 11 May.
The Abu Dhabi day match will be the highlight of Etihad's first season as a lead sponsor of Chelsea which has seen the UAE's national airline
host the first ever Middle East edition of the Chelsea Soccer Schools in the capital during February at Zayed Sports City.
To mark Abu Dhabi day, Etihad has launched a competition on its dedicated website,
etihadfootball.com, giving football fans from across the world the chance to fly to London, stay in Stamford Bridge's
Millennium Hotel and watch the Chelsea match against Bolton Wanderers.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways' executive vice president marketing and product,
said, "Abu Dhabi day will be a fantastic occasion and we
are thrilled to offer fans from around the world the chance to join us and experience the excitement of watching a match at Chelsea's
famous Stamford Bridge stadium."
Additional interest in Etihad's Chelsea competition is expected as the English Premier League season enters the final stage with the West
London team second (at press time) in the table and with only six matches remaining.
Among the activities taking place on Abu Dhabi day will be
Arabian-themed cuisine at the stadium, and Abu Dhabi promotional material and
branding in the programme and across the stadium.
