Dusit Thani
has signed an agreement with Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) to offer Dusit Thani College’s popular
curriculum in Hospitality Management at the 4 campuses of LPU in the Philippines.
Dusit Group owns and operates
one of Thailand’s leading hospitality institutions, Dusit Thani College, and is currently expanding its hotel and resort
portfolio onto the world stage with new developments in the Middle East, Egypt, India, Indonesia and China.
Under the agreement, Dusit Thani College will provide curricula and academic resource materials for Bachelor of Science in International
Hospitality Administration specialized in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management, Tourism Management,
as well as various intensive professional courses in Hotel Management, including Dusit Thani College’s famous Professional Chef and Culinary
Arts programs, at LPU’s four campuses located in Manila, Batangas, Laguna and Cavite. In addition to curricula, Dusit will provide support in
refreshment training and orientation to LPU’s teaching professionals.
Dusit International has been operating a five star deluxe hotel property in Makati, Metro Manila for many years and
recently completed an
extensive renovation and rebranded the hotel as the Dusit Thani Manila.
The hotel will be used for student training and provide the idea
introduction to their hospitality careers. Besides this, Dusit has plans to recruit a few thousand more staff and employees from the
Philippines for several new Dusit International hotel openings in the Middle East over the next few years.

LPU, currently with the largest student enrollment of more than 10,000 students in the Philippines in Hotel & Restaurant Management and
Tourism, plans to upgrade facilities at all their campuses to meet the high standard expected for the future programs. State-of-art facilities for
“kitchen” training and various practical labs will be created or introduced at all campuses. In Manila, a spacious new learning center will be
constructed at the Intramuros campus with fully equipped classrooms, training rooms, demonstration kitchens, and student practical kitchens,
and other modern facilities. This new center is targeted to be fully operational in mid 2010. A full service hotel of 54 rooms with all facilities is
also being planned to serve as training hotel and will be connected to this new learning center in
Manila.
