Since the launch of Silversea’s new expedition ship Prince Albert II in June 2008, demand for
luxury exploration cruising in Antarctica has been high. Now, Silversea
Cruises has just made generous savings available for early bookings for the 2009/10 season.
Silversea has set a new standard of expedition cruising with the Prince Albert II. From the absolute luxury of the
all-inclusive vessel, guests can explore the vast white wilderness and unique nature of Antarctica. Each day, conditions permitting, at least two Zodiac departures
will be attempted, to visit penguin rookeries and scientific research stations. Or guests can simply take in the splendour of the scenery from the
convivial, cosmopolitan comfort of Prince Albert II, hot rum toddy in hand, enjoying guidance from Silversea’s experienced team of expedition
staff and lecturers.
The 2009/10 season starts on 12 November with a series of 11 day Classic Antarctica round trip voyages from Ushuaia, navigating Drake
Passage and the Antarctic Peninsula. All-inclusive cruise-only fares start from US$6,596 for the 2009 series and US$6,716 per person, double
occupancy for sailings from 7 January 2010.
Also on offer is an epic 17 day Explorers’ Antarctica sailing departing 20 February 2010. Prince Albert II will cruise Drake Passage and the
Antarctic Peninsula, followed by such ports of exploration as Elephant Island, the South Orkneys, South Georgia and the Falklands. Cruise-only
fares start from US$9,146 per person, double occupancy.
Finishing off the 2010 season is an 11 day Chilean Fjords Highlights voyage departing Ushuaia on 9 March. The cruise takes in Garibaldi Glacier,
the Chilean Fjords, Magellan Strait and Magdalena National Park, plus Puerto Natales, Ancud, Niebla and Santiago in Chile. Cruise-only fares
start from US$4,796 per person, double occupancy.
Prince Albert II offers
large, all ocean view suites, some even boasting private verandas or French
balconies. Cruise fares include complimentary wines, Champagne and drinks throughout the ship. Menus are designed by Relais and Chateaux
and guests can dine when and with whom they wish or have complimentary in-suite dining. With a staff to guest ratio of 1:1, the service
standards are outstanding, with experienced knowledgeable expedition staff and lecturers further enhancing the Silversea expedition
experience. All gratuities are included.
