Best Western International Asia
has appointed Suwaratana Tan as the company's international training manager.
Ms Tan will be based in the Bangkok corporate office.
Suwaratana attended the prestigious St. Joseph Convent School in Bangkok before heading off to Washington, USA where she completed her high
school and a college degree in business. She followed this up with a Bachelor of Arts degree in travel industry management at Mahidol
University in Bangkok and also accomplished her MBA in International Business at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
She joins BWI Asia from DHL Express International (Thailand) Ltd. where she was strategic program manager. Over the years, she has had
varied experiences in training and has acquired numerous training certifications.
In her new capacity, she will be overseeing the training plan of BWI for its hotel operations in Asia with focus on developing the service standards.
In
Singapore, BWI Asia has appointed Christy Guna Desa as hotel operations manager of the 62-room Best Western Jayleen 1918, scheduled to
open on the first quarter of 2009. Desa holds a diploma in business studies from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with major in tourism and leisure
management and a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from the University of Canberra with major in marketing.
His most recent position prior to joining BWI was duty manager at the Singapore Marriott Hotel where his responsibilities included maximizing
room sales to exceed daily hotel revenue goals. Desa has received significant service recognitions while with the hospitality industry.
With his new appointment, Desa takes on the responsibility of implementing international operations standards, revenue maximization as well as
moving the business goals of the company.
