The Canadian
Grammy award-nominated female rock singer, Avril Lavigne, is to perform at Cotai Strip CotaiArena
in Macau on September 26, 2008.
There will be a six-city China tour between September and October as part of her ongoing The Best Damn Tour 2008. Starting on September 26 in
Macau, then followed by Shenzhen on September 28, Chengdu on 30th, Lijiang on October 2nd, Shanghai on 4th and Beijing on 6th as the final
stop. Emma Entertainment, based in Shanghai is co-promoting the Macau show with The Venetian.
This will be Avril’s first full-production tour in China, featuring sophisticated stage settings and an upgraded collection of hit songs from her
previous albums including “Innocence” “Keep Holding On” and “Forgotten”. Avril an accomplished musician; will perform live on
guitar, drums and a pink piano.
As far as having three albums worth of songs to choose from while creating her concert set, Avril shared, "It makes it so much easier and way
better because I have more singles and of course, when you play the hits on stage that’s the most exciting part of the show
sometimes."
"With a
wide range of tunes to choose from," Avril explained, "I have more to work with now. I just get to make the show more diverse."
The Best Damn Tour kicked off on March 5 in Victoria B.C., Canada. "I can’t wait to get back out on the road! I have the most fun when I am
performing for the fans. I think that my energy comes through in my live show," Avril stated.
The
Cotai Strip CotaiArena offers seating for approximately 15,000 and can be configured to hold events of many kinds. This multi-purpose arena
comes fully equipped with world-class broadcasting facilities including TV broadcast level lighting, full wireless and fiber optic capability. The
venue also has a removable floor which can accommodate a range of sports pitches and a surface that can be replaced with anything from wood
to ice. It can host concerts, banquets, shows and many sporting events from NBA basketball to world title boxing, ice skating to X-Games, or
tennis to dirt-bike racing.
Tickets are in three price categories: A Reserve (MOP$880), B Reserve (MOP$680) and C Reserve (MOP$380) will be on sale on Monday, 28th July
2008.
