On Thursday, 25 September 2008, the Boards of Directors of Air France-KLM and Air France
aproved Jean-Cyril Spinetta’s wish to separate the posts of Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer.
Consequently, as from 1st January 2009, Jean-Cyril Spinetta will remain in his position as Chairman of the Boards of Directors of Air France-KLM
and Air France, but will cease to exercise the duties of Chief Executive Officer of Air France-KLM and Air France.
"After eleven years as Chief Executive of Air France, and then Air France-KLM, I felt it necessary to propose an internal solution that would
guarantee continuity of governance, in view of the difficult economic climate facing
us," said Jean-Cyril Spinetta. "This way we will protect
the group’s interests, while abiding by the principles which have underpinned its constitution and will remain relevant going
forward."
In accordance with the proposal by the Appointments Committee,
Pierre-Henri Gourgeon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Air France-KLM by the Board of Directors of Air France-KLM as from 1st January 2009.
Furthermore, Pierre-Henri Gourgeon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Air France by the Board of Directors of Air France as from the
same date.
