HRG Italy has been appointed by the Italian National Olympic Committee as the official ticketing agency
to sell tickets to the Italian athlete's families and friends who will
be attending the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
This arrangement includes tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as all the sporting events. HRG Italy will manage the
logistics for the athletes' families, such as the planning of their itineraries - including visits to key attractions in Beijing - their
accommodation, flights and other transport arrangements. In addition, HRG has also signed an agreement with Assist, the Advisor for the
Italian National Olympic Committee for Sponsors and Media, in order to provide transportation and logistics support for the athletes'
families.
Priority will be given to the families of the
athletes, and the remaining tickets will be sold to the open market, offering both tickets only and pre-arranged packages.
"The Beijing Olympics will be a truly memorable experience and we are working closely with our colleagues in Italy to ensure that all the
athletes' families receive a personalised service, with attention to every detail,"
said Mr Harald Weber-Liel, General Manager, HRG China.
"And of course, we're drawing on our experience from last year's FIFA World Cup (in Germany) to make this Olympics an even bigger
success."
HRG has a proven track record in delivering expert travel management solutions in the field of high performance sports, handling and
overseeing every aspect of travel and accommodation arrangements and requirements for a wide range of world famous sporting clubs,
professional leagues, associations and federations, dealing with teams, officials, VIP guests, the sponsors and partners, media
representatives as well as supporters.
It was appointed as
an official logistics and accommodation partner of the Organising Committee for
the largest sporting event in 2006 - the FIFA World Cup in Germany, where HRG Germany tackled a variety of logistical
challenges. These included reservations for a record one million bed nights for visitors from 75 countries, the ground handling for more than 20,000 guests at
the same time, and arranging 164 exclusive charter flights for the competing teams.
