Centara Hotels and Resorts has invested more than 100 million Baht on upgrading and expanding its signature Spa Cenvaree brand, bringing to 11 the total number of Spa Cenvaree outlets throughout Thailand by July 2008.

Mr.Gerd Steeb, President of Centara Hotels & Resorts revealed that “A 20 million Baht renovation program at Spa Cenvaree at the Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui has created a world-class spa encompassing the latest in health, traditional beauty and wellness therapies in surroundings that blend impeccably with the natural environment. Facilities include treatment rooms with distinctive colour schemes, a Thai sala, relaxation lounge, wet treatment room with chromo therapy, private couple suites with Jacuzzi, and an open-air nail sala surrounded by beautiful lotus ponds.”

“A rainforest spa is being created at Centara Villas Samui, with Spa Cenvaree due to reopen in July 2008 following a 20 million Baht investment. Tucked away in a serene rainforest and overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, the spa treatment rooms are individually designed with jungle themes and incorporate natural materials including bamboo, local wood, stone, and water elements. Facilities include a steam bath, a nail salon, and an outdoor foot massage pavilion beside a lotus pond.” Supatra Chirathivat, Senior Vice President-Development added.

Newly opened in March at the Centara Chaan Talay Resort and Villas Trat, the Spa Cenvaree is housed in a cluster of thatched-roof treatment pavilions set amidst lush jungle. The décor concept is based on nature and simplicity, reflecting the natural surroundings and the use of herbs and ancient therapies. The spa features three private couple pavilions, a meditation hall for meditative exercises, and an open-air beach sala.

The newest Spa Cenvaree is the flagship outlet, due to be opened in June 2008 at the Centara Grand at CentralWorld, in Bangkok, and representing an investment of 45 million Baht. Featuring ultra-contemporary Thai interiors reflecting the hotel’s design concept based on the four elements of Earth, Fire, Air and Water, the spa has 14 stylish treatment rooms.

Basing its philosophy in age-old therapies, Spa Cenvaree at the Centara Grand is also technology driven, with the newest hydro facilities, an infrared sauna, and science-based slimming technologies amongst the facilities. There is an open-air sala, a nail salon, and the Lifestyles on 26 fitness centre.

The renovation and upgrade plan for Spa Cenvaree also includes a new wilderness spa for Centara Villas Phuket. Drawing on the healing powers of nature, the spa will be housed in five traditional villas constructed of wood and stone, overlooking the Andaman Sea. An open-air sala will provide relaxing foot massage along with pedicure and manicure services. The new spa will be completed in December 2008, following an investment of 20 million Baht.

A total renovation is also being undertaken for Spa Cenvaree at Centara Karon Resort Phuket, with emphasis placed on a rainforest theme and design elements to reflect its cultural heritage. All treatment rooms will be upgraded with rich shades of colours, reflecting the beauty of the wild flowers on the island.

“Apart from expanding its presence in Thailand, Spa Cenvaree will expand into key emerging markets, such as China, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates,” added Thirayuth Chirathivat, Senior Vice President-Project Management of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
