The
Anantara Resort Koh Samui is inviting guests to indulge in an evening of
jazz with renowned bass-voice artist and singer Benni Chawes on Saturday, 10th May 2008.
Following a sell out concert in Bangkok, Benni Chawes and his unplugged band will perform for one night only at Anantara Resort Koh
Samui.
Benni Chawes was born in Copenhagen where he studied piano before heading to the US to further his career. There, Chawes performed
with great artists including Aaron Neville and the Boston Symphony Orchestra – Ray Charles even commented on his singing, saying “you
made my night”.
Chawes pushes the boundaries of music in his solo performances, demonstrating his virtuosity with his vocal instrumental sounds. He
sings the bass, drums, percussion, guitar, tuba and more - all is his voice. Over the years he was own numerous awards on both sides of
the Atlantic, including the Musicianship (bass singer) in 1993 from the International Association of Jazz Educators.
A limited number of tickets are available for sale and are priced at THB 1,500 nett, which includes a welcome cocktail, 3 course set dinner
and the performance by Benni Chawes and his unplugged band.
Guests can
also reserve a special package priced at THB 17,500 nett for one night stay, or
THB 23,500 for two nights stay. The package includes:
