The
Trisara, an exclusive spa resort in Phuket, has partnered with a group of gifted Phuket-based therapists to offer a broad menu of holistic
solutions for physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Available by appointment, therapists include a reiki guru to celebrities including Madonna and U2’s Adam Clayton, and
neuro-muscular workouts from the consultant to Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France cycling team.
Gentler holistic therapies range from healing hands to alleviate problem areas to karmic guidance for emotions.
Among holistic specialists on call to the resort with its own beach and headland are former monk Anamai Apaiso, who adopts
non-judgmental listening techniques to discuss issues from stress from work to relationships, loss of loved ones, depression or negative
thoughts. His ‘Anamai Mind Training’ is a systematic process aimed
at enabling people to discover serenity and contentment, and live a happy
and stress-free life.
Reiki Master Nikorn Banjerdlert is also a former monk who teaches meditation to find happiness within, and natural reiki energy healing for
physical, mental & emotional discomfort. His therapy is complimented by massage, deep listening and ‘FEEL trips’ to temples, markets and the
sea.
Fijian Dorinda Berry practices karmic release, communication ‘through angels’, crystal healing, spiritual guidance, and shamanic journeys to
teach greater self-understanding and awareness, releasing negative energy and developing pure emotion to find “the child within us all”.
Triathlete Stephen Kirwin, who has worked with Lance Armstrong’s cycling team, has created a unique blend of deep tissue massage,
myofascial release and trigger point therapy for the weekend warrior as well as elite athletes to boost performance, reduce muscle fatigue, break
down scar tissue, decrease swelling, reduce tension and rehabilitate injuries. His therapy aids fatigue recovery and physical conditioning.
Reiki Master Roger Moore is sought after world wide for a range of holistic treatments. He has been voted one of the top ten therapists in the
world by TATLER magazine and Best Therapist by Elite Travel USA magazine. His clients include Adam Clayton of U2, Trudie Styler aka Mrs
‘Sting’ and Madonna.
Among his signature treatments, Seven Chakra Massage encourages energy flow, relaxation and revitalization. Metamorphosis is a unique
therapy changing personal awareness. Functional Insight Training (FIT) combines relaxation, stretching, weights and aerobics to integrate mind,
body and spirit – a perfect treatment for those who don’t regularly exercise. Watsu therapy, performed in water, is for chronic back pain and
muscle stiffness. Chi Nei Tsang is an ancient Chinese ‘organ massage’ to unblock energy, digestion and emotions.
Pat Thummanond is a US certified Physio-Therapist and a holistic healing consultant to international health and wellness spas worldwide. Her
specialties include a gentle hands-on Cranio-Sacral Therapy around the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, benefiting the
central nervous system. A profound change of body, mind and emotion often occurs during a session, or even several days after. She also uses
lymphatic drainage techniques to detoxify the body and visceral manipulation to encourage normal mobility of dysfunctional organs.
World-class yoga and pilates classes are also available at Trisara, either in the resort’s meditation sala perched on the edge of the sea, or in the
privacy of villas.
Instructors include Ashtanga yoga specialist Julie Hirunchai, sports therapist, personal trainer and Pilates instructor Jill Robson, and Panatee
Thongnopkun, specializing in hatha yoga, pranayama (concentration of breathing) and kriya (purification).
For the ultimate in spa relaxation, its “Royal Trisara”, 90 minute, three therapist, six hand massage is the signature treatment.
The
Trisara is located just 15
minutes from Phuket International Airport.
