SAS Scandinavian Airlines has
reported a growing interest for its Asian route in its upcoming winter program, which offers a new route to Delhi and the return of
two popular seasonal routes: Copenhagen-Dubai and Stockholm-Bangkok. This follows a strong summer where SAS' Asian routes generally
performed better than last year, and cabin factors well over 80% were
recorded on most routes.
"We are really looking forward to add Delhi to our intercontinental route network this October, and there is great interest amongst both business
and leisure travelers," said Lars Sandahl Sørensen, Chief Executive Officer, SAS International. "Along with our two returning seasonal routes,
we offer a dynamic and highly competitive winter program and very attractive fares."
Dubai, which was a new destination for SAS last year, quickly became one of its most popular long-haul routes and demand is already strong for
this season. Both Dubai and Delhi will be served three times weekly from Copenhagen, while there will be a total of eight flights a week to
Bangkok, five of which will be from Copenhagen.
SAS' winter program comes into effect October 27, and lasts until end of March.
Other Asian destinations include Beijing (10 flights a week; daily from Copenhagen and three weekly from Stockholm) and Tokyo (six weekly
from Copenhagen). SAS also offers 84 flights a week between Scandinavia and the US.
