MMC (Marsh & McLennan Companies) has become the latest multinational
corporation to select BCD Travel as their global travel management provider.
Headquartered in New York, MMC is parent to five global professional services companies: Marsh –
a risk and insurance services company; Guy Carpenter – a risk and reinsurance specialist; Kroll –
ta risk consulting company; Mercer – a major global provider of human resource and specialty consulting services; and Oliver Wyman Group – provider of specialized
expertise in strategy, operations, risk management, organizational information and leadership development. Employing about 55,000, MMC
generated roughly US$11.4 billion in revenue in 2007.
Judy Bauer, global corporate travel head for
MMC, said, “We awarded the business to BCD Travel based on a proposed program that
supports our overall business objectives in and beyond North America. We were impressed by BCD Travel’s willingness and ability to listen to
what we need and create a program customized to the unique needs of our company, culture and travelers. We're excited to partner together in
the coming years to streamline our growing travel program.”
Technology also played an important role in MMC’s decision, said
Bauer, “Among other solutions put forth in the bid, we were impressed by BCD
Travel’s TripSource: Portal and their ability to support our online program, which makes up a significant portion of our business today in major
markets.”
