In line with Dusit International’s expansion into overseas markets, this year the company aims to serve its domestic and international
hospitality services by starting its 2nd generation of Management Trainees as a fast-track career development for high-achieving
graduates.
This year 12 successful candidates have been recruited
to attend a year long program, which comprises 15 intensive training units such as Marketing & Sales, Public Relations, Food & Beverage, Reservations, Human Resources, Catering
Management and others. The trainees will take in-class course for 3 months at Dusit International’s head office, followed by a wider
introduction to the company’s business, and field practice at Dusit International’s properties in Thailand for the last 9 months. After finishing
the program, they will have an opportunity to select and request a placement in a position that best suits their competency skills and
interests at one of Dusit’s hotels or resorts.
Mr. Octavio
Gamarra, Senior Vice President of Dusit International said, “As we are expanding rapidly to the world’s hotel markets, the need for quality people to serve in each of our properties is essential. People are the core element in hospitality services, and we know that in order to achieve true success, we need to develop their talent to help us strive only for excellence.”
One of the outstanding candidates, Ms. Piyanan Luksanawong, who has a vast experience working in the hotels across the world including
United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia, chose to join the program over
a job offer in Australia. “I have always admired
Dusit Thani since I was a little girl. Early this year, while I was preparing myself to go to work in Sydney, I did not hesitate to turn down the
opportunity, and instead joined Dusit International’s Management Trainee program. I believe Dusit hotels reflect all the best of Thailand, so I
am glad to be a part of its expansion to the international stage.”
Mr. Bundith Juvasvat, a sucessful graduate from University of South Australia’s Le Cordon Bleu,
decided to reject offers from a wide
range of international hotels to join Dusit’s distinguished program in April. “Dusit International offers me more variety of
programs to help me enhance my knowledge and practice in every stage of hospitality, including Food & Beverage, Front Office Services,
Sales & Marketing, Reservations, and others. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the business from operations to management
level in order to understand my potential and the area I am best suited for.”
Mr. Juvasvat’s dream is to work in Dusit hotels overseas. “I would love to work in a multicultural environment. Especially as being Thai, we
are the best in hospitality. I have worked in the hotels in Australia and the United States, so I know that the Thai way of service is
unbeatable. Working for a Thai hotel in other countries to show the world how magnificent we are would be a fabulous opportunity,”
Mr. Juvasvat said.
Ms.
Luksanawong, Mr. Juvasvat and other 10 high-achieving candidates will complete their training in early 2009.
