The Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau has released the latest edition of its successful Sydney and New South Wales Event Planners
Guide, redesigned for 2008 to create an essential tool for planning spectacular events in the harbour city and beyond.
The new-look guide has been completely remodelled based on the feedback of 300 key users, resulting in an easy-to-use resource that puts
the best facilities and services of Sydney and New South Wales at the event-planner's fingertips.
About 8000 copies of the planner will be sent to professional conference organisers, corporate event planners, associations and
government agencies, both in Australia and internationally.
It will be backed by the SCVB's online resources, including a web-based version of the guide featuring highlights of the printed edition. The
online guide provides searchable information and links to the websites of venues,
hotels and other services.
This year's Sydney and New South Wales Event Planners Guide includes a new easy-reference guide as well as a large fold-out city map. It
provides detailed information on hotels, venues, attractions and services available in Sydney, plus a 24-month check list for event planners
and travel information for overseas visitors.
The guide also showcases the many attributes of regional New South Wales, with a dedicated section outlining the diverse range of
conference facilities and touring options offered by the State's 15 regions, each with its own special character.
SCVB Managing Director Jon Hutchison said the new guide was essential for anyone planning an event, whether a major conference for
5000 people, an incentive meeting for 500 or even just a cocktail event for 50.
"Sydney's facilities and services are world class and have a proven track record for staging successful events," Mr Hutchison said. "When
you add a spectacular location and any number of uniquely Sydney experiences, you have the recipe for a truly unforgettable event."
"The Event Planners Guide is the key to orchestrating a successful event in Sydney and making the most of the venues and facilities we
have available. We are excited about this year's redesign of the guide and confident it will provide an easy-to-use tool for the market."
