InterContinental Hotels Group
has opened the Holiday Inn Cairo Citystars. Located within the 750,000 square meter Citystars mixed-use
leisure complex at the heart of Egypt's capital, the 311-room Holiday Inn
is targetting an increasing number of mid-scale travellers in Cairo, who are looking for modern, attractive facilities at
reasonable prices.
John Bamsey, Chief Operating Officer, InterContinental Hotels Group, Middle East & Africa said, "Holiday Inn is one of the world's most
recognisable hotel brands with a global reputation for service, comfort and value and we are very proud to be expanding its presence in the
thriving and strategically important destination of Cairo, Egypt."
"According to the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC), Egypt's travel and tourism industry is expected to grow by 5.4% per year
between 2008 and 2017. This represents not only continued growth but also increased opportunity for a dependable mid-scale brand such
as Holiday Inn," Bamsey added.
The hotel offers a choice of four restaurants and bars, serving a variety of cuisines inspired by different culinary traditions. While 'Windows'
restaurant is an international dining venue open 24 hours, 'Stars Corner' is located in the lobby, and 'H501' on the outdoor terrace is an
ultra-modern bar serving some of the most creative cocktails in town. Lastly, 'Indira' is a truly authentic Indian restaurant with a resident specialty
Chef.
All rooms are equipped with
the latest technology, featuring flat LCD TV screens and touch-screen, colour display, direct dial IP telephone
systems.
For business travellers and corporate guests, Holiday Inn Cairo Citystars has four state-of-the-art banquet and meeting rooms and a fully
