Sabre Airline Solutions appoints David Chambers as Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific

Sabre Airline Solutions has appointed David Chambers as its new Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, Chambers is responsible for overseeing client management functions across all of Airline Solutions’ clients in Asia Pacific. He is committed to expanding Sabre's presence in the region with the provision of business consulting, world class software solutions, and a broad range of services to the airline and travel industries in Asia.

With the continuing rise of fuel prices and the ever-growing threat of competition, airlines in Asia are on a quest to find the most efficient ways to operate their businesses, while at the same time increasing their value to customers. Sabre Airline Solutions is committed to partnering with airlines to achieve that goal, and I’m excited about being part of that mission,” said Chambers.

Sabre Airline Solutions provides a wide range of solutions that address airlines’ marketing, service, sales, and operational needs. Airlines in Asia that currently engage with Sabre include Virgin Blue, Air New Zealand, Lion Air, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, Bangkok Airways and Air China.

Chambers has over 15 years of experience in Asia, spending most of those years doing business with Asian airlines. He joins Sabre from Unisys where he was partner – global transportation. He is no stranger to Sabre, having held several positions within the company for many years. He was also a part of IBM’s Travel and Transportation team in Asia.

Chambers, who is fluent in Japanese, is an accomplished photographer, winning several awards and holding several exhibitions of his own. He is also an avid golfer, scuba diver, and enjoys tinkering with computers and vacuum tube audio equipment.
