Visa International
has confirmed Singapore’s first winner of its ‘Win a Trip to the Olympics’ promotion. Lim Chee Quan was the first name
drawn from the thousands of entries submitted as part of the promotion which started in November 2007.
Lim Chee Quan has won a three day/two night package for two to this year’s Beijing 2008
Olympic Games and will be given a pair of tickets to two Olympic events, a sightseeing tour of the
Great Wall and Forbidden City, return flights, meals, accommodation and transfers within
Beijing.
“It was always my dream to witness and experience the Olympic Games in person and I still can’t
believe that just by paying for dinner at Pier Eleven over at Marina Bay with my Visa card has
helped make that dream come true. I want to thank Visa for this opportunity and I am
looking forward to August when I’ll be able to join the thousands of other people who will be attending the
Beijing 2008 Olympic Games,” said Lim.
A total of 70 winners will be chosen during the three month promotion period that has been
running since 15 November 2007 and will end on 23 January 2008. Visa has announced 56
winners to date.
Meranda Chan, country manager - Singapore and Brunei, Visa International, said,
“While watching the Games on television at home is exciting, being there in person is an entirely
different experience. We hope to give lucky cardholders this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
attend the Games.”
To qualify for the ‘Win a Trip to the Olympics’ promotion, all Visa debit, credit and prepaid
cardholders from Singapore and other countries in Asia need to do is make a minimum purchase of
Sin$50 on their Visa card
during the promotional period . Visa cardholders have until January 23 to qualify for the draw.
In addition to the ‘Win a Trip to the Olympics’ promotion, Visa ran the ‘Visa Moving Images’
