Gold Swiss-Belhotel Dubai has
appointed its Executive Committee in lead-up to the hotel opening later this year. The four star hotel, will be the
first in Dubai for Swiss-Belhotel International headquartered in Hong Kong, and will be located in Al Mina Road in close proximity to the Dubai
International Convention & Exhibition Centre, bustling Sheikh Zayed Road and Port Rashid.
The newly appointed team, is led by General Manager, Mr
Nils
Rothbarth. German-born, Rothbarth commenced his career in hotels through a
Hotel Management Traineeship with Holiday Inn in Germany. He selected the Food and Beverage route taking his first international posting in
Johannesburg, South Africa. In 1996 he joined Southern Sun where he progressed up through the ranks to accept his first General Manager
posting in 2000 for Holiday Inn Garden Court Bloemfontein. He remained with Southern Sun until joining Swiss-Belhotel International in February
2008. Throughout his career he has held positions on
various Tourism Association boards and has actively participated on advisory committees for schools of tourism and hospitality.
Mr
Deepak Dahiya joins Gold Swiss-Belhotel Dubai as Director of Sales & Marketing. Deepak
has more than 13 years of experience
in corporate / leisure / airline business development. He has worked for several international brands including Le Meridien, Sofitel, Starwood and
most recently, prior to joining Gold Swiss-Belhotel Dubai, Habtoor Hospitality. His experience spans India, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
With a strength for motivating people and strong communication skills he is responsible for all sales, marketing and communications aspects of
the hotel.
Mr
Indra Thayil assumes the role of Human Resources Manager joining from Golden Tulip / Flamingo Hotels where he was regional Human
Resources Manager for the UAE. Indras career began at the Bahrain Sheraton. In addition to Starwood where he acquired more than 8 years
experience, he has worked on brands including Hilton, Radisson, Ramada and Millennium. Throughout his 21-year hotel career he has been
instrumental in nine pre-openings. His experience includes time spent in Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (Al
Ain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai).
Mr
Sanjay Kumar
Jain has been appointed as Financial Controller. A Commerce Graduate, Sanjay is a Chartered Accountant & Cost Accountant
(ICWA). He began his career in the corporate world in 1998 before discovering the world of hotels in 2003 when he joined Radisson MBD Hotel in
Noida (India) as part of the pre-opening team. Two years later he was offered a role in Agra as Financial Controller with Jaypee Palace Hotel. In
early 2007 he relocated with his family to Dubai and prior to joining Gold Swiss-Belhotel Dubai, he was Financial Controller for the Metropolitan
Hotel Deira.
Mr
Prem Negi joins as F&B Manager/Executive Chef with dual responsibilities for both service and culinary.
Having spent the last decade in Australia, Chef Prems background includes culinary roles in
Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, the United Arab Emirates in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai and throughout Australia
and the Far East. He is no stranger to the big
brands such as InterContinental, Sheraton and Novotel, however he has enjoyed working for a string of other stand-alone properties including
Crown Casino Melbourne, Al Bander Resort (Bahrain) and prior to his appointment with Gold Swiss-Belhotel Dubai, the Airport Hotel &
Convention Centre Melbourne. Chef Prem will be responsible for the hotels three food and beverage outlets and in-room dining.
Mr
Yohan De Zilva assumes the role of Rooms Division Manager. His career in hotels began in 1982 when he joined the Hotel Lanka Oberoi in Sri
Lanka as Bellboy. From that day on he moved up through the Front Office ranks to take on his first position as Rooms Division Manager in 1998
for Sheraton Khalidiya, Abu Dhabi (formerly Radisson SAS Residence). Yohan has also held positions within Accounts and Food & Beverage.
Throughout his career he has held positions with hotels located in Sri Lanka, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates where he gained experience
with Abu Dhabi National Hotels, Radisson SAS Hotel Jumeirah Beach, and prior to joining Gold Swiss-Belhotel Dubai, the Al Bustan Centre &
Residence. He is responsible for
front office, housekeeping, recreation, security and transportation.
