An
Action Aviation SJ30 S/N ‘007’ set a new world speed record by flying seven hours and seven minutes from London to Dubai on 10th November including a 41-minute
refuelling stop in Istanbul. The SJ30 is manufactured by Emivest Aerospace
Corporation.
The flight, captained by Action Aviation’s Chairman Hamish Harding and co-pilot Emivest Aerospace’s Bryan Dennison, covered a great circle
distance of 3470 statute miles route (5600 km) giving an average speed of 488 mph (786 km/h). This London-Dubai record is currently the fastest
time recorded for any aircraft below 20,000 lbs, as officially certified by the National Aeronautical Association.
“As the world’s fastest light business jet, the SJ30 is completely built for speed using innovative concepts in wing design ensuring it is
aerodynamic and has the ability to cancel out gusts of wind. Since its first introduction, the SJ30 has been making world speed record flights
including its record-breaking journey from Texas, USA to Dubai last year for the Dubai Airshow,” said
Emivest Chairman, Buti Saeed Al
Ghandi.
“The Middle East is now the world’s fastest expanding market for private jets with industry experts forecasting it will account for $720 million of
the private jet market this year making the region a strong territory for the SJ30. Emivest Aerospace is looking forward to embracing these
opportunities that lie ahead by bringing the SJ30 to market in large scale production,” he added.
Action Aviation Chairman, Hamish
Harding, added, “With the high-speed cruise of 486 kts and a range of 2,500 nautical miles, the SJ30 jet has truly exceptional performance for a light jet. Breaking
records has become almost a habit with the SJ30. Last year, we flew our SJ30 aircraft a world record distance in a 24 hour period of 7810
nautical miles (14,500 kms) straight from San Antonio, Texas to Dubai, for the Dubai Air Show. In July 2006, we flew another SJ30 straight across
the Atlantic in one hop, creating a new speed record for its weight class.”
