Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train service that links the UK with
Continental Europe, has appointed Emma Harris as its new Director of Sales &
Marketing Director (UK & International).
In her new role Emma will be responsible for all Sales and Marketing activity in both the UK and international markets. She will also have
responsibility for brand management and the development of the Eurostar product.
Emma joined Eurostar’s business sales team in 2001 from Bass Brewers where she was a National Account Manager. She has risen through the
ranks becoming Head of Business Sales, then Director of UK Sales, before taking on the International markets in 2005. More recently, Emma led
the change management programme for Eurostar’s successful move to St Pancras
International in London.
“This is an exciting move for me personally and for the business,”
said Harris. “One of the keys to our success during recent years has been the
harmonisation of sales and marketing. To now fully integrate them into one function will only make us stronger commercially, bringing a more
creative approach to our sales processes and allowing for a more sales-influenced marketing
strategy.”
In the first nine months of 2008 Eurostar
carried a record 7 million travellers and enjoyed record sales of £521.1 million. Over 90 million
people have travelled on Eurostar since services began in 1994.
