The
InterContinental Singapore has opened its new Club Lounge. With its distinct Peranakan identity, the new Club Lounge represents the
epitome of contemporary Peranakan architecture and is ideally placed to allow
guests to soak in the district’s absorbing past.
Designed by Warren-Foster Brown, Managing Director of FBEye International, the Club Lounge quickly impresses guests with its untypical
pre-colonial residential feel. Featuring spacious layout and generous daylight, the interior puts strong emphasis on respecting
authenticity.
Replete with subtle Peranakan undertones, from timeless furnishing with elaborate carvings to rich tapestry and intricate ceramics, the
InterContinental Singapore Club Lounge is one of the few places in the city where guests can immerse themselves in a bygone era.
For guests travelling on business, the Club Lounge’s luxurious Peranakan setting is complemented by a comprehensive suite of modern
business facilities. Here guests can enjoy high-quality business support services, including high speed internet access and video conferencing
services. The Club Lounge is also configured flexibly enough to host boardroom meetings or quiet breakouts for private discussions.
Casual travellers can capture the buzz of street life below from the comfort of the Club Lounge or choose to relax in the library containing
literature on Peranakan history and other genres of books.
The Club Lounge’s open concept food service area offers an
array of choice throughout the day. Depending on appetites, guests can choose
from the buffet selection with perennial Peranakan favourites or canapés and lighter snacks from the menu. At breakfast, a dedicated chef will
even prepare a meal according to guests’ preferences.
