Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Tuesday, 16 September 2008

AirAsia X has launched special one-way fares between Australia and Kuala Lumpur. The 14-day ‘Sale through Asia’ campaign offers one-way flights to Kuala Lumpur from the Gold Coast, Melbourne or Perth from $199.

The Sale through Asia airfares are available online and valid for sale until September 28, 2008 for the travel period between January 2009 and July 2009.

Refreshingly, the airfares quoted include airport taxes, surcharges and fees.

As part of AirAsia X’s latest deal, travellers are urged to use the shopping and sightseeing mecca of Kuala Lumpur as a gateway to the rest of Asia with connecting AirAsia flights from as low as $19.

Divers seeking out a new underwater experience can tap into AirAsia’s $19 flights from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi or Kuala Terengganu. If you’re looking for something that’s a little off the beaten track, fly from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching in Sarawak for $37 or Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan in Sabah also for $37.

Fly from Kuala Lumpur and see the sights of Cambodia with AirAsia from $94, Vientiane (Laos) $94, Hangzhou (China) $180, Hong Kong $140 or Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) $94.

AirAsia X will operate a new direct service from Perth to Kuala Lumpur from November 3 this year and from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur from November 12.
