Amadeus
has appointed Edward Jusuf as its new General Manager for Indonesia. Based in Jakarta and with more than a decade of industry experience, Jusuf is
responsible for expanding Amadeus’ business and introducing new technologies that will help local travel agencies to become more efficient in their operations.
Coupled with seamless service and a dedicated helpdesk, he and his team are making several new solutions available in Indonesia, including
the latest version of the Amadeus Selling Platform, an advanced web-based system that facilitates the selling process for travel agents; the
Amadeus Customer Profiles and the Amadeus Travel Preferences Manager, tools that helps travel agents to incorporate customer preferences
and travel policies; and Amadeus’ industry-first Service Fee Manager solution, which stores, calculates and collects all distribution-related
service fees in the most efficient way possible.
David Brett, President of Amadeus Asia Pacific
said, “Amadeus has been experiencing tremendous growth in the Asia Pacific region and
Indonesia is one of the markets with great potential. With the current economic downturn and the ever-growing threat of competition, local travel
agents are on a quest to find efficient ways to do business while increasing value for their customers. This is where Edward’s immense local
experience in the travel industry is so valuable.”
“We are confident that he will use his vast industry knowledge, dynamic energy and determination to deliver exactly the technologies that local
travel agents need, as well as lead his team to greater success in Indonesia.”
As General Manager, Jusuf will be responsible for management and commercial operations, sales and marketing, as well as strengthening the
company’s position in Indonesia with the support of an expanding team of 37 spanning across two offices in major cities, Jakarta and Surabaya.
Prior to joining Amadeus, Jusuf has held various senior management positions at Travelex, Rosenbluth International, FCm Travel Solutions,
Carlson Wagonlit and Thomas Cook.
“My previous experience in the travel agent industry has given me a strong understanding of the challenges being faced in this market. I am
very much looking forward to offering local agents the Amadeus technologies that can help them overcome these obstacles,” said
Jusuf.
From now until the end of the year, Jusuf has also planned a series of marketing events for travel agents to introduce them to the type of
technologies offered by Amadeus. These initiatives will provide an important platform for them to voice their concerns and discuss the current
issues they are facing.
