Maher Al Shaer appointed President of Middle East Council of Shopping Centres

Mr Maher Al Shaer has been appointed President of the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC). Mr Maher is Managing Director of Al Retaj Holding Company in Bahrain and has a wealth of experience from a career in the retail sector.

Mr Maher replaces Mr Mohammed Alawi, Saudi Arabia Country General Manager, MAF Shopping Malls Co, Saudi Arabia.

Based in Dubai, the MECSC is a voluntary, non-profit association. Established in 1994, the council has more than 750 active members. Covering a territory of 18 countries in the region, the MECSC represents the interests of shopping mall owners, developers, marketing managers, leasing managers and specialists, retailers, consultants, property managers, financiers, accountants, government officials and industry suppliers.

Also appointed as an Executive committee member, was Mr Shahram Shamsaee, Senior Vice President Shopping Malls, MAF Shopping Malls, UAE.
