Peter Mainguy,
a veteran hotelier with 16 years’ experience in the Middle East, has been appointed General Manager of the 608-room Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Mainguy succeeds Allan Federer, who
transferred to The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt, County Wicklow in Ireland.
With a six-year Ritz-Carlton career that started as director of sales and marketing in The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai in 2002, Canadian-born Mainguy was
previously general manager of The Ritz-Carlton,
Dubai. Prior to that, Mainguy also served as general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt and
hotel manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai. While in The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel and Spa as regional director of sales and marketing for the
Middle East, he was instrumental in the successful re-branding of the hotel from a Le Royal
Meridien.
Tapping on his experience and leadership, Mainguy was certified as a Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center Ambassador for its Legendary Service
Programme in 2007. This was developed to meet a growing demand from organisations requesting a speaking engagement or benchmarking
programme.
Mainguy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Husson College in Bangor,
Maine. He was also on the Judicial Board, Sergeant at Arms – Sigma CHI Fraternity.
Counting dirt bike racing as a professional hobby, Mainguy actively participates in
various motocross and desert “Baja” endurance races as a fully sponsored rider with the Middle East KTM Team out of Dubai, with many
podium finishes under his belt. He was also the assistant director of the Harley Owners’ Group (H.O.G.) in Dubai in 2003, 2004 and 2007.
