for the popular, and highly entertaining, NZI Rugby Sevens will go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 17.
The 2009 event promises to be even more fun than ever as Rugby Sevens fans will have extra reason to party
- its the events tenth birthday.
Its been ten years of triumph on and off the field as the
capital has embraced the New Zealand leg and made it its own, Tournament General Manager Steve Walters
said. The fans come ready to enjoy themselves and this year the tournament generated $15.6 million of new spend into Wellington citys economy.
One
of the countrys biggest sports and entertainment events, the NZI Rugby Sevens,
will be held at Wellingtons Westpac Stadium on Waitangi weekend, Friday 6 and Saturday
7 February 2009. Wellington is among the four founding tournaments along with Hong Kong, South Africa and England.
Tickets are available via the internet
or by calling Ticketmaster on 0800 111 999. People wanting to purchase
online should pre-register their details with Ticketmaster before 17 September. While pre-registering will not
guarantee tickets, it will speed up the process once tickets go on sale.
Wellington Rugby Members have until Friday 29 August to take up their priority right to purchase NZI Sevens tickets.

Category A $160
(covered seating on the Eastern and Western side)
Category B $140 (uncovered seating on the Eastern and Western side)
Category C $140 (covered seating at the Southern end)
Category D $115 (uncovered seating at the Southern end)
Red Zone $130 (covered and uncovered seating at the Northern end for those wanting to party)
Adult - Alcohol-free Zone $105 (uncovered temporary seating at the Southern end)
Child - Alcohol-free Zone $40 (uncovered temporary seating at the Southern end)
