Mr.
Luc Bollen has been appointed General Manager of the Hilton Petaling
Jaya, one of the Hiltons longest standing hotels in Malaysia. Mr Bollen succeeds Mr Michael Nagel
who managed the hotel from 2001 to July 2008 and now heads the Hilton Beijing.
Mr Bollen joined Hilton Hotels in 1993 and his most recent posting was as General Manager of
Hilton Hefei in China, where he was instrumental in the development of the hotel throughout the preopening
and operational phases. In just two years under his leadership, Hilton Hefei garnered
numerous international awards that reaffirmed the hotels standing as one of the best business
hotels in China.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Bollen
said, Im delighted to be given the opportunity to lead
this outstanding property which has been open since 1984. The 553 well-appointed guest rooms
and suites provide an excellent option for business and leisure travelers alike in
Malaysia. I look forward to enhancing the hotels image and driving it to further heights with my dedicated team.
Mr Bollen has an outstanding track record in the hospitality industry with over 20 years experience
in various fields of hotel operations.
Starting his career in hospitality as an Executive Chef at Hilton Antwerp, he was then appointed to
the position of Director of Operations at Hilton Shanghai, where he steered a team of one thousand
employees to successfully increase guest satisfaction ratings and team member
satisfaction. During this time he was also called on to serve as Acting General Manager. Mr Bollens career has taken
him to many continents including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Gulf region, China and most
recently Malaysia.
Mr Bollen is a graduate of the Hotel College of Brussels. Despite his busy schedule, Mr Bollen
also takes
time out to tutor in the companys leading programme, Hiltons Pro Active Leadership Training.
Belgian born, Mr Bollen is fluent in English, French, Dutch and German. He has a passion
for good food, wine, travel and rugby.
