Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Wednesday, 12 March 2008

The Radisson Resort Fiji Denarau Island has been awarded a 5 Star rating by AAA Tourism, the national tourism body of Australia's Auto clubs. AAA Tourism promotes Star Rated accommodation properties to over 6.5 million members of Australia's Auto Clubs, domestic and  international travellers. This is the highest ranking AAA Tourism can award.

The 5 Star rating scheme provides certification of official Star Ratings for over 11,000 accommodation properties. AAA Tourism used over 300 criteria to assess the resort across key areas, including: facilities, services, appearance, décor, maintenance and cleanliness.

Justin Phillips, General Manager of the Radisson Resort Fiji Denarau Island, said, "This accreditation will create a great atmosphere for the entire resort team and is a testament to all our hard work to develop this beautiful beachfront resort."

This hard work has resulted in the resort being chosen as the venue for the Amalgamated Telecommunications Strategic Workshops, another demonstration of the resort's local reputation as one of Fiji's premier function venues. Guests attending the workshop included Fijian Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama; the newly appointed Tourism Minister, Tom Ricketts; Attorney General, Aiyaz Saiyad-Khaium; and many other telecommunication representatives from Australia and New Zealand.

AAA Tourism has been providing official Star Ratings for Fiji since mid 2006, Barbara Scott, AAA Tourism's representative in Fiji said, "We are pleased that the newly established Radisson Resort Fiji Denarau Island has achieved a 5 Star Rating as it meets the highest standards in all areas."

Radisson Resort Fiji Denarau Island is one of Fiji's newest upscale beachfront resorts with a 5 star AAA rating and is located just 20 minutes from Nadi International Airport. Offering 270 guest rooms and suites plus a myriad of facilities nestled around lagoon swimming pools and lush tropical gardens, the resort is the perfect choice for pure relaxation, a family getaway or to host a great event. The resort was developed by Tabua Investments Ltd., and is managed by Carlson Hotels Worldwide - Asia Pacific.
