Amadeus
has appointed Mr Jean de Durfort as Head of Hotel Distribution. The appointment is part of Amadeus' global expansion of its hotel technology
business.
In his new role, Mr de Durfort is responsible for promoting and delivering Amadeus distribution products and services to hotels around the
world, and working with travel agencies to boost Amadeus hotel bookings.
Travel agents can currently book over 75,000 hotels in Amadeus.
Mr de Durfort previously managed
Amadeus' relationships with third party technology providers and with major travel management
companies selling Amadeus e-Travel Management, Amadeus' online self-booking tool for corporations. Prior to this, Mr de Durfort
held a variety of sales and marketing positions at American Express, lastly Director of Multinational Sales. He has worked in France, the UK
and Germany and is currently based at the Amadeus Headquarters in Spain.
"Jean's experience working with travel management companies and corporations to streamline their booking processes and his
e-commerce knowledge will prove invaluable as more and more hotels are booked online, whether through a corporate self-booking tool
and online travel agency or a supplier's website," said Antoine Medawar, Managing Director, Amadeus Hospitality Business
Group.
Mr de Durfort is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris and holds an MBA from
INSEAD.
