In November 2007, Singapore welcomed 837,000 visitors, representing a growth of 4.6%
compared to November 2006. This sets a new record for the month of November. Visitor days were estimated to reach 3.1 million days, an increase of 13.6% in comparison to November
2006.
Indonesia (136,000), P.R. China (104,000), India (63,000), Australia (60,000) and Malaysia (55,000) were Singapores top five visitor-generating
markets. These markets accounted for 50% of total visitor arrivals for the month.
Singapore gazetted hotels were estimated to generate
Sin$175.4 million in room revenue, representing an increase of 23.8% over November
2006. This represents a new record for the month of November.
The Average Room Rate (ARR) in November 2007 was estimated at
Sin$226, representing an increase of 29.8% over November 2006 and
setting a new record for ARR in any given month. The Average Occupancy Rate (AOR) for hotels was estimated to have reached 88% in
November 2007, posting a 4.2 percentage point decrease over November 2006.
