The
Royal Park Hotel in Shatin, Hong Kong, has been selected as the official Olympic Village of the Equestrian
Games 2008. As such, the hotel will be closed for reservations between
21 July and 14 September 2008.
While
the Royal Park's Japanese restaurant, Sakurada, and its new Royal Park Chinese Restaurant will
remain operational, the hotel's popular 2+2 café and one+one Bar will be temporarily closed
to outside guests until the completion of the Equestrian Games.
The
hotel will resume normal operations from 15 September 2008 onwards.
The
hotel is expecting to house around 400 people, athletes and supporting staff,
from over 40 countries during the Games.
The Royal Park Hotel is a 16-storey twin tower
offering guests 443 luxuriously appointed guest rooms, executive floors and elegantly appointed
suites.
For
fitness and relaxation, the hotel features a state-of-the-art gymnasium,
an impressive indoor/outdoor swimming pool which is heated when
required, steam rooms, tennis court a nearby jogging track nearby and a
massage & beauty service.
Located in the New Territories, and adjacent to
Shatin station, the hotel is just 25 minutes from China by train, 20
minutes from Central and 45 minutes from Hong Kong International Airport.
The hotel is adjacent to New Town Plaza, one of the largest shopping and entertainment complexes in Hong Kong,
which offers over 300 shops, a myriad of dining options and a 10-screen cinema.
The hotel overlooks the Shing Mun River and the lush greenery of Shatin Central Park. For those who enjoy horseracing, the
nearby Shatin Racecourse provides weekend entertainment nine months of the year.
