Korean Air appoints James Jin-Ho Yoon as Regional General Manager - Hong Kong and Macau

Korean Air has appointed Mr. James Jin-Ho Yoon as the company's Regional General Manager, Passenger & Cargo Sales of the carriers Hong Kong and Macau region.

Yoon, 44, has served Korean Air since January 1989 as the load controller of cargo freighter, where he spent 4 years in a range of cargo operation management. Mr. Yoon then transferred to the Safety Administration Department in 1993 and was responsible for safety planning before he was seconded to Europe in May 1996.

Mr. Yoon stationed in Europe from 1996 to 2001 for overseeing the cargo business in Zurich, Basel and Frankfurt. During the period in Europe, Korean Air Cargo operations grew rapidly, an achievement that led the airline being rated as one of the top commercial cargo airlines in the world.

Prior to his appointment as general manager of cargo division in Hong Kong in December 2006, Mr. Yoon spearheaded several cargo divisions in the Seoul headquarter including cargo sales, cargo route and fleet management between 2001 and 2006, which Korean Air cargo business has became the world number one commercial cargo airline since 2004.

Yoon said, "Korean Air is one of the world's top airlines, with a proud history of innovation and outstanding customer service. It's a great honor to oversee its business expansion in the region."

Born in Seoul in 1963, Mr. Yoon has inherited the optimistic, courageous and energetic traits of Korean which has led him to develop his career path in the aviation industry.

Mr. Yoon received a bachelor degree in German and German literature with minor in international economics and law at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul in 1988. He is married two sons. His hobbies include golfing and music.
