With nearly 190 prestigious companies from all over the world already confirmed exhibitors, TFWA is confident that the annual TFWA Asia Pacific
duty free and travel retail exhibition in Singapore this May will be a vibrant event which will reflect the dynamism of the industry in the region.
Asia Pacific is the fastest growing duty free and travel retail market in the world. According to the industry’s analysts Generation AB, the global
industry achieved sales in 2005 worth US$27 billion and Asia / Oceania accounted for 26.5% (second only to Europe) which was a +13.9%
increase on the previous year. The region is projected to account for 40% of world sales by 2010.
The breakdown of the TFWA Asia Pacific exhibitors largely reflects the structure of the industry with fragrances and cosmetics as the largest
category with 27% of the stands and virtually every major international beauty company in the world present. Fashion & accessories, jewellery &
watches, and wine & spirits companies, including many of the world’s dominant groups, each occupy around 16% of the stands with a diverse
collection of tobacco, confectionery & fine food, electronics and gifts & toys completing the picture.
The addition of Singapore Changi Airport Authority and the Singapore Tourism Board add to the local flavour of this show which is geared
specifically to the needs of Asian airport, airline, ferry and downtown buyers who wish to do business with the world’s most prestigious and
innovative duty free and travel retail suppliers.
There will be 45 exhibitors present which did not make it onto the trading floor last year including major international names such as Beauté
Prestige International, Clarins, Estée Lauder, Frédérique Constant, Guerlain, Kraft Foods, Kipling, P&G Prestige Products, Parfums Givenchy and
William Grant & Sons.
The newcomers include King Power’s new Antares brand and Braun in the electronics category, Mango fashion, Collistar fragrances &
cosmetics, Vertu in the jewellery & watches sector, Villa Massa wines and international tobacco giant British American Tobacco.
TFWA Asia Pacific opens with a business conference on Tuesday 15th May in the Singapore Suntec Centre and closes on Friday 18th May.
