Mr Santiago Sagaz
has been appointed General Manager of the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort &
Spa.
Santiago completed his study in the hotel discipline in 1992 at Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland and started his career in the food and
beverage area at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Macau. He joined the New World Hotel Saigon, Vietnam as an Assistant F&B Manager in 1996 and
was promoted to be the Director of F&B at JW Marriott Mexico City, Mexico in 1998. He was then appointed to be the Director of Operations at JW
Marriott Lima Hotel, Peru in 2002 and in February 2006, was promoted to the Hotel Manager. In this role, Santiago managed and oversaw the
operation of a 300 room business hotel and focused on the JW brand standards conversion, associate satisfaction, management development,
sales and financial performance.
Santiago
has a great deal and variety of industry experience. During his tenure with Marriott International, he has won many awards,
including Hotel of the Year 2003, F&B Excellence 2003/2004, Customer Excellence 2003, Operations Excellence 2003 and 2004.
