BCD Travel, one of the world’s largest global travel management companies, officially convened its global executive management meeting at the Shangri La Hotel, Singapore on Tuesday. One key objective of the meeting was to underscore the importance of the company’s recently launched Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Principles worldwide.

The three-day meeting is the latest in a series of global staff meetings conducted by BCD Travel’s CEO, Mr. Mike Buckman, and his senior management team from around the world. Also participating were principals from 14 BCD Travel Asia Pacific countries representing Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

On Tuesday, 5 June, all-day senior management meetings were held highlighting, among other topics, the importance of its recently announced Corporate Social Responsibility Principles. The principles are billed as a global code of conduct for BCD Travel and will guide all of the company’s operating units, including BCD Travel, Advito and BCD Meetings & Incentives.

Then today, BCD Travel will officially open its new, state-of-the-art Singapore service centre at International Plaza, Anson Road, followed by an executive management and Asia Pacific team meeting. The final day on Thursday, 7 June, will feature a series of benchmarking and best practices workshops on business development, operations, technologies and client program management services.

Roger Pfund, BCD Travel General Manager and Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations, said, “By holding the executive team meeting in Singapore, the BCD Travel leadership team has an opportunity to meet not only with its regional partners, but to enhance the company’s commitment to the Asia Pacific region. Importantly, the meeting also commemorates the opening of the Singapore BCD Travel service centre, which is responsible for supporting the corporate travel management needs of our multi-national clients.”

“The new state-of-the-art facility is modeled on our other successful centres around the world by bringing next generation technologies to this marketplace. Many new clients have already experienced our services and we have a list of others ready to be implemented. Our centre in Singapore will connect the Asia Pacific region to other service centres elsewhere in the world. Singapore joins new offices in Sri Lanka, Jordan and Israel that have recently been opened to better serve BCD Travel clients,” Pfund added.
