The Rezidor Hotel Group has contracted its fifth property in Egypt. The Radisson Hotel, Alexandria which will be in Alex West, a new suburb
comprising apartments, townhouses, villas, three hotels, a conference centre, restaurants, a shopping mall and an 18-hole golf course, ten
minutes west of Alexandria City, is scheduled to open in 2009. Between 2007 and 2009, Rezidor will add 20,000 new rooms to its portfolio.
“Egypt is an important market for us and this hotel is part of our strategy to develop more properties in the Middle East,”
said Kurt Ritter,
President & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group.
“Alexandria is known as the ‘second capital’ of the country and being a major seaport on the Mediterranean Sea, it is vital that our core brand is
represented there.”
The 270 room property will also include several dining venues, a health club with an outdoor pool, retail outlets and a Golf Clubhouse. The hotel
will also have a business centre, an executive lounge and two meeting rooms. The Radisson Hotel, Alexandria will be a 20 minute drive to
Alexandria airport and two hours from Cairo.
Currently Rezidor manages four properties in Egypt – El Quseir, Taba and two in Sharm El Sheikh.
