Starting this winter, Lufthansa passengers will be able to take an even earlier flight to New York
(Newark), landing already at 11.45 hrs (local time). Business travellers, in particular, will benefit from
the early arrival time, which will give them greater flexibility to plan their appointments.
“The early
arrival time in New York will enable our passengers to make the most of the day from noon
onwards,” said Dr. Karl Rudolf Rupprecht, Head of Hub Management Frankfurt, Lufthansa
Passenger Airlines. The new service will be introduced on 28 October 2007, when the winter
timetable goes into effect.
Lufthansa will operate this additional, all-Business Class flight with a Boeing 737 that has been
refitted as a Business Jet. The aircraft has 44 modern lie-flat seats. When fully reclined, these provide
an almost horizontal sleeping surface measuring two metres (6’6”) in length. Bigger seat pitches,
more generous table-top areas, power ports for notebooks as well as a reading lamp that is
integrated into the seat provide ideal conditions for business travellers to work during the flight.
Flights depart Frankfurt daily except Saturdays at 8.15 hrs and arrive in Newark at 11.45 hrs. Each day the new connection will be the first
Lufthansa flight to land in New York. The return flight is scheduled for 15.55 hrs, touching down in Frankfurt the following day at 5.40 hrs.
These flights can, of course, be combined with any of the existing services between New York and Frankfurt or Munich. Besides the
Business Jet service, three more daily flights will operate on this route with all three cabin classes.
A return flight from Frankfurt to New York with a Lufthansa Business Jet can be booked at regular Business Class rates, starting at 2,069
euros, including all taxes, charges.
