In July 2007, Singapore welcomed a record 951,000 visitors, representing a growth of
4% as compared to July 2006. This was the highest ever visitor arrivals recorded in a single month and breaks the record set in July 2006 when 914,000 visitors arrived. Visitor days also
achieved a record at 3.6 million days, an increase of 11.3% in comparison to July 2006 and another record for any month.
Indonesia (192,000), P.R. China (109,000), Australia (76,000), India (59,000) and Malaysia (51,000) were Singapores top five visitor-generating
markets in July 2007. These markets accounted for 51% of total visitor arrivals for the month.
This was a record breaking month with Australia, USA and Vietnam achieving their highest ever visitor arrivals within a single month.
Singapore gazetted hotels were estimated to reach
Sin$168.3 million in room revenue, registering a record high for any month and an increase
of 27.5% over July 2006.
The Average Room Rate (ARR) in July 2007 was estimated at
Sin$185, a record for the month of July, representing an increase of 18.4% over
July 2006. The Average Occupancy Rate (AOR) for hotels was estimated to have reached 91% in July 2007, the same as in July 2006.
