The Putman,
a new boutique hotel apartment in Hong Kong was officially launched last
week at a private party hosted by its designer, Madame Andrée Putman.
The Putman will provide executive accommodation for
long-stay business travellers who are looking for comfort, space and designer-style in Hong Kong’s Central district.
The boutique hotel apartment is entirely purpose-built to Madame Putman’s specifications as she oversaw site design, development, space-use,
exterior elevation and interior decoration.
“I have tried to create a sentiment of opulent yet understated elegance,”
said the innovative French designer. “By creating a dialogue
between the façade and the interior, the outside and the inside, I aimed to create an oasis of calm amid the bustle of Hong Kong. The Putman’s
design represents a fresh and subtle energy driven by an ambitious desire for comfort.”
Each of the 1,300 square foot one-bedroom apartments will be full-floor suites with private dual-lift lobbies. Inside the apartments will be three
distinctive living areas - all inter-connected by glass doors, open hallways, high ceilings and a chic neutral décor for versatile living.
Apartments will be fully fitted with state-of-the-art gadgets and furnishings including two Toshiba 42” HD LCD televisions, Siemens and Krups
kitchen appliances and a stand alone Villeroy & Boch bathtub. On-site management will provide daily housekeeping services as well as full
porter, maintenance and concierge services.
Other facilities in the block will include a café located on the ground floor, and a chic lobby area.
Prices for the one-bedroom suites will average HK$50,000 per month, with the top four floors boasting sensational sea views.
