ANA InterContinental Tokyo, IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan’s first co-branded ANA InterContinental property, opened
on Sunday amid springtime cheers and festive revelry. Guests and hotel employees, along with their family and friends, gathered for a ceremonial unveil of the
new hotel signage, as well as a celebratory champagne toast in the hotel’s main lobby.
IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan was formed on 1 December 2006 as the hotel operating joint venture of IHG,
one of the world’s largest hotel groups by number of rooms, and ANA, a
leading Japanese airline. ANA InterContinental Tokyo is the first of 13 hotels across Japan
which the company will co-brand and enhance by 2009. Other hotels in the company’s network are also expected to co-brand.
Chris Moloney, chief executive officer, IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan, said: “This hotel is a great representation of the ANA InterContinental
co-brand. It’s the result of teamwork and cooperation, and the combination of unique strengths that both companies bring to the partnership. As
the pace of co-branding continues, our hotels will hotels will gain more of an international flavour while still maintaining the essence of Japanese.
