Continental Airlines
has increased its nonstop flights between Hong Kong and New York Newark Liberty International Airport to seven
times a week.
Continental
launched nonstop service linking the two global financial hubs in 2001. In response to the growing demand for
flight service between Hong Kong and the Big Apple, the airline decided to expand its existing service from six times a week to daily.
Continental Airlines uses Newark Liberty International Airport as its entry point to New
York. Newark is the closest airport to downtown Manhattan and is only 26 minutes from
Manhattan by train. With Continentals recently announced partnership with
U.S.
Helicopter,
Continental passengers can use the helicopter shuttle service between Newark Liberty and midtown
or downtown Manhattan. The ride only takes eight-minutes. This service not only provides
time-sensitive business travelers a fast and convenient option to travel in and out of Manhattan, but
also offers passengers a spectacular view of the city.
In addition, to offer travelers greater convenience, Continental Airlines
has resumed its In-
Town Check-in service in Hong Kong. Passengers who use the Airport
Express can check-in their luggage and obtain their boarding passes at the Airport Express Hong
Kong and Kowloon Stations from 5.30am up to 90 minutes prior to their departure on the same
day.
Wyn Li, Continentals Country Director of Hong Kong, Macau, and Southern China, said,
"It is a Continental Airlines mission to provide the best service for our passengers in Hong Kong.
The daily service to New York and the In-Town Check-in service are part of our continued efforts
and innovation to enable our passengers to enjoy greater convenience and the most hassle-free
journey."
To celebrate the introduction of the New York daily service, new members joining
OnePass will earn 5,000 bonus miles. Passengers traveling in BusinessFirst will earn a 50% class
bonus and a bonus of 5,000 miles upon completing roundtrip travel.
