The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Asia Pacific Chapter has partnered with the International Branded Hotels of Shanghai (IBHS) to produce a one-day
program that takes a critical look at key issues facing the hospitality and tourism sectors in Shanghai - China.
As part of the HSMAI APAC's conference series for 2007, ASIA CONNECT - Shanghai will be staged at the Hua Ting Hotel & Towers on 29 June.
Positioned as a "Learning and Networking" event to address the specific challenges of hospitality professionals, the ASIA CONNECT - Shanghai agenda will be centered on three key
themes:
- Managing well in the face of HR & other employee staffing issues
- Keeping your balance in an over supply market
- 'Destination Branding' - Creating new demand
A highlight of the conference agenda will be presented by William Hall, GM, Hotel Equatorial Shanghai and Chairman of IBHS on the findings of a recent survey of IBHS members and
other key hotels, including General Managers, Human Resource Directors, Directors of Sales & Marketing and other hospitality professionals.
Working in tandem with the conference themes, a survey entitled, 'What Keeps You Up At Nights?', will examine the views of hospitality professionals in Shanghai, China, on the most
pressing and nagging issues that are essentially causing them sleepless nights.
William Hall, GM, Hotel Equatorial Shanghai and Chairman of
IBHS, said "The program agenda was
meticulously pulled together and reviewed by IBHS and HSMAI APAC to ensure that the contents and tone resonates with the interest of our members and industry."
"A key role for HSMAI is to provide support to hospitality sales and marketing professionals through 'Resources, Knowledge and Networks'. Starting with the 'What Keeps You Up at
Nights?' survey in Shanghai , China , it is our intention to launch similar initiatives in key markets in the Asia Pacific region as a means to benchmark,"
said Michael Meade, Senior
VP, Sales & Marketing, Jin Jiang Int'l Hotel Management Company Ltd and board member of HSMAI Asia Pacific.
"Furthermore, by staying abreast of the interests of industry colleagues through research and surveys, both IBHS and HSMAI can effectively gauge future program needs of
members and the industry," added Meade.
For this inaugural HSMAI event in China, HSMAI is extending a special per person delegate rate for HSMAI Members at US$100 or $75 for two or more
registering from same organization; IBHS Members at US$ 120 or $95 for two of more from the same organization and for Non-Members the rate is US$170
individual or $145 for two or more from the same organization.
