Tiger Airways
is to commence flying between Melbourne and Newcastle, Hobart and Canberra from
the start of 2008. One-way fares start from a low $9.95 inclusive of taxes and
charges.
“This new service by Tiger Airways
will provide the people of the ACT and surrounding region with consistently low cost airfares. Not everyone
who flies to Canberra has an expense account,” said Tiger Airways CEO Tony Davis.
“Newcastle is an attractive alternative for tourists with its wine and food experiences
and also gives travelers who live in the northern suburbs of Sydney a real low fare
alternative to trudging through the traffic to Mascot.” Davis added.
