Qantas
has confirmed that it will operate daily flights to Beijing between 4 and 24 August 2008 to carry spectators, officials and athletes to
the Games of the 29th Olympiad.
The move from three to seven services per week during this peak travel period
will increase the airline's Beijing capacity by more than 130%.
Qantas
will operate Airbus A330 aircraft on the route, equipped with its Skybed sleeper seat in Business class and audio and video on demand in all classes.
"Qantas currently operates eight return services a week to mainland China - the three Beijing-Sydney services as well as five on the
Sydney-Shanghai route - with two additional return services, between Melbourne and Shanghai, to commence in March 2008,"
said Qantas Executive General Manager, John Borghetti.
