Marriott
is to open its third Renaissance-branded hotel in Paris in 2009 under a management agreement with Empire SAS, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Altarea SA, a publicly traded French company. When opened, it will be Marriotts eighth hotel in the Paris metropolitan area.
The 118-room Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe will be located on Avenue Wagram approximately 300 meters north of the Arc de Triomphe. On
the hotels site is a historic banquet and ballroom, Salle Wagram. In addition, the site will contain 1,500 square meters of retail space.
Alain Taravella, president of the Altarea Group, said, Christian de Portzamparcs unique architecture, materializing values of modernity as well as
comfort and quality offer the most beautiful shrine to the new Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe. It will make this building one of the most
notable assets of Altarea.
For dining and entertainment, the Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe will have an all-day casual restaurant and lounge with an outdoor terrace
and bar. Recreational amenities will include a 70-square meter fitness center.
For social events and conferences, the Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe will offer 150-square meters of space which can be divided into two
sections or five breakout rooms in varying configurations.
