Three new hotel groups
- Club Quarters, Hyatt Place and La Quinta Inns - have been added to
Galileo's 'next generation' hotel booking tool, Inside Shopper, bringing the total number of participating hotel chains to 200.
Part of Galileo’s RoomMaster hotel program, the Inside Shopper tool now incorporates 84% of Galileo’s hotel inventory (or 60,000 out of
71,300 hotel properties). The connectivity enables hotels to accurately return all available rates directly from their own central reservation system straight to the Galileo travel agent’s desktop.
“We’re delighted to now have 200 hotel groups participating in Inside Shopper,” said Jane Lewis, Galileo’s director of hospitality for EMEA and
Asia Pacific, “it means that our 50,000 leisure and business travel agents worldwide view only the most up-to-date availability and rates allowing
them to offer a faster and more accurate service to their customers. It very much confirms our leadership in this area.”
Linda Kent, vice-president of electronic distribution for Starwood Hotels and Resorts agreed, “We were one of the first hotel groups to participate
in Galileo’s Inside Shopper program when it launched in 2002 and it has solidly contributed to a growth in travel agent bookings of our hotels.
Travel agents clearly value having a streamlined and accurate hotel booking tool with real time reservation capability.”
Galileo also offers its agents a leading Best Available Rates (BAR) program which returns the best available, unrestricted rates from over 100
hotel chains, representing 30,000 hotels in 74 countries. The program provides agents with the convenience of “one-stop” shopping from their
desktop and reduces the need to shop outside of the GDS. This month, three new international hotel chains - ANA Hotels International, Langham
Hotels International and Sol Melia Hotels - joined the program.
