Abacus
has launched a one-stop online portal Abacus VirtuallyThere for mobile services, which delivers real-time, personalised itineraries
and travel information to travellers at any time or location.
Brett Henry, Vice President, Agency Marketing for Abacus International, said the company had extended the tried and true concept of
Abacus VirtuallyThere to meet the needs of the growing ranks of travellers on the move with a wide array of communication devices and
hungry for updated travel information.
"With Abacus VirtuallyThere, they can now access the latest travel information while on the move, managing their time and itinerary more
effectively, essential factors in the corporate travel market where we expect this service to be particularly popular," Mr Henry said.
"Abacus
VirtuallyThere allows our more than 15,000 travel agency locations to keep their brand in front of travellers and enrich their customer
relationships while the traveller is actually on the move; it also demonstrates Abacus' understanding of the needs of travel agents and the
current trends and lifestyles of travellers," said Mr Henry.
To make journeys more convenient and efficient for travellers, Abacus VirtuallyThere enables travellers to receive flight notification alerts for
flight delays or cancellation and any airport terminal or gate changes. In addition, U.S. bound travellers can check Transportation Security
Administration security wait times by airport location, enabling them to plan ahead for possible delays.
To complete the picture for a
better travel experience, Abacus VirtuallyThere offers the ability to retrieve itineraries, access e-tickets and
provides navigation assistance with maps and driving directions via the MapQuest solution, and destination information such
as city guides, restaurants and a currency converter tool.
